great product! August 24, 2010 smalltownvegan (Greeville, NC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I can't imagine my life without this monitor! I have a two month old and this product gives me so much freedom. It's nice to peek in on her during naptime and nighttime and not have to risk waking her up. Especially during the first few weeks when you are totally paranoid and want to make sure she is breathing all the time. It also allows me to run on the treadmill with my headphones on during her nap because I can just watch the video instead of having to listen for her. Greatly recommend this product. I'd have to say this is the single best thing I bought for my baby! I do agree the green light is annoying, but it does not bother her, in fact, one night we watched her smile and coo at the monitor for a few minutes before she fell asleep.
what a monitor! August 23, 2010 Renee Ligman (EAST GRAND FORKS, MN, US) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a wonderful monitor!! The flashing people had been complaining about in the past must be fixed now because I have not seen a single flash while I have been n her room, nor on the monitor. The zoom, pan and scan options are awesome to say the least. I have it angled at her bed but can scan over to see her at the door trying to get out or zoom in on her during the night. The sound quality is by far the best of the monitors we have had. Almost no delay and I can hear her breathing at night even through her sound machine and heart beat music. We had 2 other video monitors before this and returned each one. This is the best and I would recommend it to all of my friends.
The Best Secure Video Monitor Option Out There, except... August 17, 2010 Larry (Jersey) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I searched long and hard to find a video baby monitor that worked well. I read and read about them, then bought and returned a couple. This is by far the best I have come across. There are certainly improvements that can be made (location of volume controls, for example), but I swear by this monitor every night. There is little to no interference, the range and battery life are good and the panning is totally cool.
The only problem (major, if important to you), is that this is an absolute wireless internet *killer.* By my standards, that is acceptable right now, mostly because by the time my little one goes down, I'm ready to go down too!
Highly recommend! August 14, 2010 JRH (Georgia) We've been using this monitor for three months and can't find anything negative to say about it. The battery life is exceptional (completely charge it, deplete it completely before recharging it, repeat.). The picture is very sharp. The range is good. The zoom and ability to control the camera remotely is unbelievably helpful. We have a 3 yr old and a 3 month old - we've tried several monitors. We use the Sony Baby Call for the 3 yr old (and like it a lot), and use the video monitor for the infant. No interaction between the two. Would highly recommend both monitors, but really like the video capability for the infant. It has saved us hundreds of trips up and down steps, and in and out of his room. Worth every penny and then some.
Almost perfect... August 9, 2010 D_R 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
We've had this monitor for a few weeks now, and we're very happy with it. There are a few very good and extensive reviews here already, go and look at those. I would just like to comment on some of the issues they bring up.
Flashing/Pumping: We don't see anything flashing or pumping on our unit, the IR LEDs for night vision are on constantly, but they're not bright enough to be a problem.
Movement Range: It's true that it doesn't go down very far, but it dows go up all the way to vertically upwards, so if you want to cover the most area, just attach it vertically to a wall or book shelf (it has a hole in the back like a picture frame just for that). For watching your child close up (e.g.to see if he/she's breathing or not) you do need to be pretty close to him/her (we just have it at the edge of the crib), so I'm not sure how useful/necessary this really is.
Interference with other wireless devices: Can't see any of that.
Audio controls: yes, you do have to press the menu button before you can control it, but given that we almost never change it, that's no problem at all. YMMV.
There were also some comments that the optical volume indicators (cry alarm) are coupled to the audio volume. That doesn't seem to be true any more, we usually run it with the volume turned all the way down, and they work just fine.
That being said, here are some things I would change if I could:
Green LED: What are you thinking, putting a bright green LED at the front of the unit? It's easy to cover up, but it's just totally unnecessary.
Display brightness: The display is pretty bright, especially in an unlit bedroom. It would be good if it was possible to control it, and making it darker would also help the battery longevity.
Optical Zoom: There is a little 2x zoom, but it's only digital, so while it's useful, it could be better. I realize this would make it a bit more expensive, so in reality I can live without it.
So overall a product that I would happily recommend to my friends.
